Reliable Machine and Service

We know lots of growers who have needed three harvesters to generate peace of mind. One to harvest, one ready to take over when there is a breakdown and one being mended. Our harvesters are built to be used and relied upon. We know how fundamental reliability is to any harvesting system. We can introduce you to our customers and you can talk to them about our reliability.

Build to Last

When people comment that our harvesters are over-engineered, we take it as a compliment. We build them from scratch using our own people to fabricate the machines from the ground up. Building our own chassis, we source the best parts for drive train, tracks, hydraulics and air.

High Output

High output enables the grower to react to their circumstances. High temperatures driving over-size, a forecasted hail storm, a big extra order……all can be adapted to if there is capacity. With Harod you can get your crop safe at the optimum time.

Although suitable for bed harvesting Harod has designed a harvester to eradicate all the problems of growing crops on the flat. With a wide cutting head, crop division and a tight stubble, returning back along harvested crop is made easy.

Create the Best Seat on the Farm

Until Harod came along spinach harvester drivers have been expected to brave the elements, some of our competitors think a seat bolted to the chassis of the machine and no cab is a good solution.

A Harod machine can comfortably harvest £200,000 worth of product in a day. A combine harvester often only operates for a few weeks each year, handles much less value per day but attracts a driving experience that is the envy of the farm. Most Harod drivers are operating their machines for six months of the year and several days each week. We see the harvester driver as a very key person within the supply chain. We want our customers to be able to select their drivers on capability rather than their willingness to tolerate poor working conditions. Great visibility, a very comfortable seat, one touch control, flat screen adjustments, cruise control, climate control, Bluetooth phone and music and DAB radio are all standard on our machines.

Being on tracks the Harod is very manoeuvrable and is easily loaded onto a normal ramped trailer, there is no need for a bespoke low-loader.

Automatic motorised knife tensioning makes operating and knife changing easier.

Safer for Product and People

Getting crop into a cold environment as soon as possible after harvesting is essential to maintain life, avoiding dehydration, yellowing and temperature build in the field. Traying up, if necessary, can be done within a controlled and automated factory environment. This removes the need for people facilities in the field and stops the inevitable health and safety challenge of large numbers of people in, around and on machinery in the field.

Day or Night

Increasingly customers want to harvest at the coolest point of the day which is often at night. Harod has fantastic lighting and high-resolution cameras making it just as capable whether it is dark or light.

Easy Clean

A good harvester is a clean harvester, Harod harvesters are easy to clean with easy access via safe steps and platforms. All covers are easily removed and replaced. Our belts are without joins, extending their life and maintaining cleanliness.

All stainless steel in contact with the crop is 316 grade, giving better resistance to corrosion and pitting.

“A great harvester driver needs a Harod! I never wanted to drive our spinach harvester until a Harod arrived.”
